Safeguarding
Child safeguarding
Children and families deserve programs that prioritise safety, dignity, privacy and appropriate professional boundaries.
Our commitments
- Prioritise the safety and best interests of children.
- Use age-appropriate, respectful communication.
- Maintain professional boundaries for staff and volunteers.
- Minimise unnecessary collection and sharing of children's personal information.
- Use consent and assent processes appropriate to the activity and context.
- Provide a clear route for reporting safeguarding concerns.
Before launch
The Foundation should appoint a safeguarding lead, document reporting and escalation procedures, complete appropriate volunteer screening, and publish named contact information for safeguarding concerns.
Safeguarding contact: Add the Foundation's verified safeguarding email/phone before child-facing programs go live.
